If you can’t make the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, public Royal Walkabout do think about booking one as a private tour. If you go private you can have the Royal Walkabout – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We’ll tailor it to your requirements. And – always with private London Walks and tours – we go to great lengths to make sure the guide-walker(s) “fit” is well-nigh perfect. Ring Fiona or Peter or Niahm or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk – they’re good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group – makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing.
A private London Walk makes a very special, indeed, unique gift – be it a birthday or anniversary or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that’s special. Memories make us rich.

We took the tour in April, 2022 and we were glad that we did. Our guide explained many things about English history, the places, the ceremonies and a lot more. It was a delightful way to see the pomp and circumstance that is the changing of the guard.

This tour took place on a beautiful and sunny morning on 20 October, and if you are in the least interested in all things Britain and the ceremony of the Guards then this tour is a must. Because there were very few visitors on the streets we were able to witness close up and personal every aspect of the Changing of the guards, at Buckingham, at St James and at the barracks. Walking or sprinting down the Mall to keep up made this tour even more exciting. There is so much more to this ceremony that a visitor can’t help but be impressed and there is no way you could check the activity at each location on your own unless you really did your homework.

We had a great tour with Claire!!! She knew all the best spots to see the real action behind the guard change instead of staying still seeing no action at all.!!! She is very knowledgeable about the monarchy residences and rules and we learned a lot!
